A Travel Nurse and her House-Boy

Hello Boston

My birthday was in June.  A small hand full of people may know that my favorite music group has always been Boston.  They were on tour and made a stop in Allen, which is part of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. The Allen stop was just a few days after my birthday, so we went.  It was great.  This was probably the fifth or sixth time she and I have been to see Boston since we have been married.  Thank you to my sweetie for the great birthday present.

June - The Fort Worth Stockyards

On June 3rd Lane and I and Anna B. went to downtown Fort Worth to the Fort Worth Stockyards Historic District.  In 1876 the railroad had arrived in Fort Worth, and stockyards soon were in place to begin supplying beef to the nation.  By 1907 the stock yards sold a million cattle per year, and Fort Worth remained an important part of the cattle industry 'till the 1950's.  Volunteers still drive cattle down the main street each day as part of the tourist draw to the historic district.  We went there specifically to see the cattle drive, as well as the various stores and buildings, and have a fine meal.

Lane found Elsie.

And I found John Wayne again.

A couple of scary looking Texas criminals there,
For dinner we ate at The Cattlemen's Steak House.  It was good, but very expensive.
